West Central Distribution announced the launch of a new version of its proprietary ortho-ortho EDDHA chelating agent Levesol™. The new product, Levesol DFC will be available for the 2016 planting season and has been proven to improve phosphorus and micronutrient efficiency, like the original Levesol.
Levesol DFC™ is a dry fertilizer compatible version. It joins the Levesol™ family of products as another option for growers to maximize the genetic potential of their seed, by maximizing the efficiency of phosphorus and micronutrients in their soil, fertilizer and in the plants, all season long.
Just like the original Levesol, Levesol DFC is incredibly stable. The pure ortho-ortho EDDHA chelate that it’s made from can withstand varying soil and environmental conditions. That is why
Levesol DFC is actually strong enough to move micronutrients through the plant during early development.
What is Levesol?
We’ve talked a lot on the LIFT blog about how micronutrients in the soil can bond with negatively charged components like phosphorus (P) and get tied up in the soil. When this happens, the nutrients are not available for plant uptake. Levesol and Levesol DFC are the only patent pending chelating agents on the market that use the purest and highest concentration of ortho-ortho EDDHA formula available to fully protect nutrients from bonding with negatively charged soil components.
Keeping nutrients from bonding together makes them soluble for uptake, leading to greater nutrient availability, increased plant health and, ultimately, a larger return on investment for growers. Soil extraction studies have shown up to 47% more phosphorus and higher levels of micronutrient availability when applying a starter fertilizer program with Levesol DFC versus without. This nutrient availability can result in faster and more even emergence for better yields.
How is Levesol DFC different from the original Levesol?
Levesol DFC provides the same benefits as the original Levesol and is formulated for impregnation on dry fertilizer to be applied in-furrow or in a band. When proper mixing and handling instructions are followed, Levesol DFC will not affect how you handle your dry fertilizer. It stays flowable during impregnation and application, and won’t stick to your equipment. Even cool weather won’t change how this new chelating agent works.
How exactly do the Levesol products help me improve my yield?
The Levesol family of products, including Levesol, Levesol DFC, Soygreen, Redline and Copper-Field, provide a solution for growers to combat nutrient deficiencies in their crops. Nutrients like phosphorus, zinc, manganese, iron or copper can be present in the soil, but may not be available to the plant, because they’ve bound with other particles in the soil. Levesol DFC is a new technology growers can use to help make those nutrients in their soil and in the fertilizer they are applying more available to their crops.
